Child Safety Standards
Pulse has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Any account found engaging in it is permanently banned and reported to the authorities.
1. What is prohibited
The following are strictly prohibited on Pulse, in every part of the service including live streams, short videos, stories, comments, profiles, gifts and private messages:
- Creating, uploading, streaming, sharing, requesting or linking to child sexual abuse material, including AI-generated, drawn or edited material.
- Sexualising minors in any way, including sexual comments, poses, roleplay or content that depicts a minor in a sexual context.
- Grooming: contacting, befriending or manipulating a minor for sexual purposes, including moving them to other platforms.
- Sextortion, or threatening, coercing or bribing anyone (including with coins or gifts) to produce sexual content of a minor.
- Trafficking, advertising or soliciting minors for sexual purposes.
- Using coins, gifts or payments to pressure or reward a minor for sexual or inappropriate behaviour.
2. Age requirements
Pulse is for users aged 18 and over. Accounts we believe belong to someone under 18 are removed. Users must not appear in, or bring minors into, live streams or videos in a way that breaches these standards.
3. How to report
- In the app: use the Report option on any profile, live stream, video, comment or message and choose the child safety reason.
- By email: childsafety@y4l-pulse.com. Please include the username and a description. Do not send copies of abusive images.
- If a child is in immediate danger: contact your local police straight away (999 in the UK, 911 in the US).
4. How we respond
- Child safety reports are prioritised over all other reports.
- Violating content is removed and the account is suspended pending review, including ending live streams in progress.
- Confirmed violations result in a permanent ban, and we work to prevent the person returning on new accounts.
- We preserve relevant evidence as required by law to support investigations.
5. Reporting to authorities
We comply with all applicable child safety laws. Where we become aware of CSAM or a child at risk, we report it to the relevant authorities, including:
- The National Crime Agency's CEOP command and the police in the United Kingdom.
- The Internet Watch Foundation (UK).
- The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipline (US).
- Other regional or national authorities where required.
6. Prevention
- Moderators review reported content and can end live streams, remove content and ban accounts.
- Users can block other users and restrict who can contact them.
- We review and update these standards as laws and risks change.
